I've stuffed them with 2 things so far, and they both turned out great! first i used the basic cream cheese wrapped in maple bacon. they were good. next time i used boudin, that i missed with a little bit of tomato sauce, and stuffed that inside a jalepeno wrapped in maple bacon, it was probably the best appetizer i've ever made, any suggestions on other stuff to put inside it?

Where different / how should I store a fresh tomato in my 'fridge?

No problems with storing them together. I store mine in the salad crisper drawer but I remove all wrappings and place in separate trays in the drawer. It's not for cross contamination but one can make the other ripen quicker which you don't want if you want to keep them longer. I also place a piece of kitchen paper in the bottom of each container to stop condensation but if your fridge has a humidifying thingy then you don't need to.

Reduce the redness of sunburn?

I was hanging out in the sun today, even though I had sun protection on (30) I still got a bad burn all over. Why are middle schools and high schools so obsessed with teaching about WW2 and the Holocaust?

I know it's important but it's like all we ever learned about from 6-12 grade. In history class we would get through all the book up to WWII by about early March and no joke, the rest of the unit would be spent on WWII and we never got to Korea, Vietnam, the hippies, Reagan, Clinton and 9/11 at all. We read five different about the Holocaust in reading classes (Number the Stars, Boy in the Striped Pajamas, Diary of Anne Frank, Night and Schindler's List) but we only read one of Shakespeare's plays (MacBeth). I took a religious studies class and when we got to Judaism all they talked about was the Holocaust like no other part of their history mattered. Is this just my school or it all schools? No wonder kids don't know any history we only focus on one part of it!

I mean it's okay, but not the best. First off, Special K Chocolaty Delight is a processed food, not good at all. Try replacing the cereal with a fruit, maybe grapefruit. Also, you need more protein in your diet, so try whey protein shakes with your breakfast. your snack is good, but remember that banana is a sugary fruit, so if you want drastic results, try eating 1/2 a banana and blueberries or raspberries. Your lunch is good, but you need more meat, protein. try adding some lean chicken breast to your wrap. Ditch the cheez its completely! If you want to know why, place a cheez it on a piece of paper overnight and when you wake up, you'll see a wet spot around the cheez it, that is all the fat and oil in one cheez it! Replace the cheez its with something like 8-10 salt free almonds. Your midafternoon snack is okay, just don't eat too many chips because they most likely do contain salt, which will cause you to bloat. Dinner sounds good, but again, add fish or chicken just to get in your protein for the day. You're also doing good with the water, remember ONE whole gallon a day is perfect for losing weight and cleansing your system :)

Its fine unless your parents died of heart disease at a young age. What I mean is that unless you have a genetic cardiovascular deficiency, its ok to eat anything once in a while. But balance is good ( you have chicken for lunch and dinner) so maybe you want to have beans, fish or beef sometimes too.

Well, I think I'm a little more liberal than my mother in some respects. But I think it's a personal decision as far as the sexual nature of the nudity. However, I think it's also easier to watch--as a girl--nudity from my own gender. I hate my tan, how can I get my skin the way it was?

I am naturally very fair and when I got a tan at the pool (not on purpose) I got so dark that my normal makeup colors do not even work for me anymore? Reaction to Fruits and Veggies?

Why is bacon served raw in Japan? Do Japanese people like to eat bacon raw? I've been in Japan for quite sometime and I do like the food here but one thing I don't understand is why they serve bacon raw in sandwiches and meals. If you go to a convenient store and look for sandwiches, you might find a Bacon lettuce and tomato sandwich costing something like 250yen but of course the bacon is raw. I went to family restaurants like Jonathan's and ate hamburg steak but it came with a raw bacon. Jonathan's serves BLT sandwich but the bacon is raw or undercooked. I learned in the U.S. that if you eat pork it had to be cooked because you could get parasites by eating raw pork or uncooked pork. Bacon is pork so that means it's not a good thing to eat bacon raw. I'm puzzled as to why bacon is served raw or undercooked in Japan. Does anyone agree that eating pork raw is not good for you? If you eat a BLT sandwich in the U.S. 10 out of 10 times the bacon will be cooked and most likely crispy but if you eat a BLT sandwich here, if you open up the sandwich and look at the bacon you know it's undercooked. In a pan it will get too much heat on the side of your nuts that are touching the pan since the pan in so close to the fire. No matter what recipe, you will have to preheat the oven. All in all it would be a better idea to put your nuts in the oven.

Basically my mother makes her own beef jerky. She marinates the slices of beef then leaves it out in the sun for it to dry. I use to eat these a lot before watching the process. What is a recipe for chicken and these other ingredients?

I would go with chicken fajitas. Slice the chicken into thin strips & saute in a bit of olive oil over med-high heat until golden & cooked through (you can cook some veggies like peppers and onions with the chicken at this point too). I would add some spices like garlic, chili powder, oregano, etc... as the chicken is cooking as well, and probably the green chilis too! As the chicken is cooking, slightly warm the tortillas. Make the fajitas by placing a scoop of the chicken mixture in the middle of a warmed tortilla, top with cheese (if desired... could also use sour cream, salsa...), and rolling it up. Bon appetit!

Why are middle schools and high schools so obsessed with teaching about WW2 and the Holocaust?

I know it's important but it's like all we ever learned about from 6-12 grade. In history class we would get through all the book up to WWII by about early March and no joke, the rest of the unit would be spent on WWII and we never got to Korea, Vietnam, the hippies, Reagan, Clinton and 9/11 at all. We read five different about the Holocaust in reading classes (Number the Stars, Boy in the Striped Pajamas, Diary of Anne Frank, Night and Schindler's List) but we only read one of Shakespeare's plays (MacBeth). I took a religious studies class and when we got to Judaism all they talked about was the Holocaust like no other part of their history mattered. Is this just my school or it all schools? No wonder kids don't know any history we only focus on one part of it!

Hollywood mis-portrays WW2?

It appears to me, that Hollywood doesn't just portray the atrocities committed during the war, but that they go way over the top and almost equate Nazi to German. It seems like Hollywoods goal is to make Americans think of German people when they think of Nazis. I find this appalling. I couldn't imagine how German citizens feel 60 years after the war, as British and American films portray THEM as evil people. The German people know their past and are rightfully ashamed of what their government did, but is it really necessary to portray the poor young German soldiers as Nazis and evil people too? Also, why does the Holocaust get SO much more recognition than the Soviet Gulag massacres? Is this a BS attempt to portray the Soviets as better people since they were more or less our allies for that war? I am not anti-Semitic by any means, but is this due to the fact nearly all movie directors are Jewish? Does anyone else share this frustration? I am American, but I have yet to see a WW2 film portraying Germans as human beings, they are made to look like monsters. By definition, if Hollywood portrays American soldiers as heroes, then the Germans, Japanese, and Soviet soldiers are also heroes in that context, as war is not heroic in any way. Schindler's list doesn't count, as he was pretty much the only good German in the flick. Anyone share my feelings? Anyone disagree? Let me hear your thoughts.

Mom's dumplings in tomato sauce?

My mother used to make us these "dumplings" that were about 1 inch or so square. They seemed to be made of flour and she would roll them, cut, cook and serve them in a tomato sauce (never from a jar). It was probably not the healthiest thing but with 6 to feed it would go pretty far. They were delicious and made us feel warm on a cold New England day. Mom died when we were kids and my father got drunk and threw all her recipes away. We never forgave him for that. Good soil for a garden in the Woods?

I'm going to be living in the woods on a lake this summer, I have some lettuce plants and tomato and cucumber plants and I will be making a bed by the water where their is plenty of sunlight. But I am on a budget and need the cheapest way to get good soil. Good simple recipe for chicken empanadas?

Help. I have made beef empanadas before but never chicken. After some research on-line I've found a ton of recipes with too many ingredients and they all seem to call for hard boiled eggs. This makes me question the entire recipe. I've had chicken empanadas before that were made by a Puerto Rican family member and there wasn't any egg in them. Maybe she cut it so small I couldn't tell. For breakfast I had a serving size of whole grain cereal with skim milk. For a snack I had a cup of fresh blueberries. After that I had a slice of whole wheat bread toasted with light margarine. Having to use solvents at work, such as acetone and denatured alcohol, doesn't help matters either! Try rubbing in some Vitamin E oils from gelcaps directly onto your skin and nails. The moister you can keep the layers of keratin (hair, skin and nails), the less flaking that should occur.

Preparing the soil and garden for planting?

I moved into a new house last winter and was delighted to hear it had a huge garden in the backyard. Unfortunately, once the snow melted I was disappointed to find it in awful shape. I have fixed the stones around the edges and removed all the garbage and such but once it got the slightest bit warm it exploded with weeds of every sort. whenever you fry anything, you have to dip the food into flour first, then the egg, then back into the flour or bread crumbs or whatever you're using....good luck and have fun....and oh, don't turn the heat to high. You want the oil or butter or whatever you're using to fry them, to be very hot, but not smoking. Practice makes perfect!

Burns caused by grease.?

Ok so I was cooking a steak in a skillet and I had my oil a little too high, when I put the steak in the skillet it shot hot grease all over my stomach (I was shirtless). It hurt for maybe an hour but its stopped since then now all that is left is small eraser sized red marks. All around my lower stomach. Basically what I was wondering will it scar? I'm pretty sure its only a first degree burn because I have no blisters and it doesn't hurt but I would not be very happy if I had to walk around with all these spots on me for the rest of my life so if someone knows better please don't be shy and pass some information my way.

Year and a half.... Weight loss zero?

I've been trying for a year and a half to lose weight... And I've tried every diet under the sun. Atkins, weight watchers, slimming world, cabbage soup the list goes on. So I changed my mind and started to change my eating habits to see if this would work, but to make dismay nothing happened. In conjunction with this I go to the gym 5 days a week go swimming once a week go running 3 times a week and do Zumba 3-4 days a week.... So I can't see why I'm still 15 stone.... I haven't lost or gained weight but it's just not shifting... I am living at the moment on chicken with no fat or skin vegetables, I have pasta with tomato sauce (brown pasta) and I eat a lot of fruit and vegetables. I don't has takeaways.... So can someone tell me what's wrong with me, because I just can't do it anymore..... Dieted and exercises and failed miserably

Cooking chicken breast-it shrinks and becomes rubbery!?

I am good at so many different techniques as far as cooking yet I seem to have trouble with chicken breasts. I will pound them out to about 1/4 inch, and then when I put them into the skillet, its like they immediately become practically the same size they were before...its like they shrink and become thicker. I have noticed this also makes them a bit rubbery. what is the problem? skillet too hot? hellp

Use the EVO ( extra virgin olive oil) and season to taste try a few different things see what you end up liking the beauty of cooking and it is totally customize able to your likes and favorites. my dad loves making whole chicken in the grill and the breast comes out moist enough, though i have no idea how long its in there. my mom also makes it fried in a pan covered with saltine crackers and those are amazing, though i don't think you what something like those ones. i love making it in the oven covered with aluminum foil some veggies like onions, potatoes carrots, add about a table spoon of butter/margarine italian seasoning, pinch of salt and pepper and those come out good too. we are all chicken breast lovers :). good luck!
