Is the black and white skin, but colored clothes and headband, the present version of the face on face?

You remember back when we were kids and in the 70's how it was the "in" thing to have your picture taken, and there would be your solid face and body, but in the top corner, there would be your see through face as if were some sort of magical special effect? It was way over used, and lately I have been seeing the trend of colorless kid with bright clothing only colored.... or that monstrous headband colored and nothing else... Do you like that fad, or is it getting just a little old? Do you have any like that? I had my son's picture taken, and the photographer was trying to shove it down my throat how cute it was with my son's face black and white, but his bright red shirt popping out like Schindler's list.. I didn't like it, or pay the extra $25 for it.
