Was Oskar Schindler a hero?

Yes I think he was, not many people had the courage to stand up for what was right back then and he did that. Also, what was happening to the Jews and how they were being killed was slightly distorted and hidden from many people unless they were in the army and directly killing them. Schindler witnessed the murder of several Jews and was horrified, therefore realising what was going on was wrong and helping them. I think he was a hero as very few people did this and did it successfully.
