What in the world is an egg roll?

i made a few friends an i invited them to my house for a party. they kept talking about egg rolls so i made them some. i cracked some eggs and i put them in a skillet and i kept stirring them until they were yellow and fluffy then i waited an i rolled them up. as i was serving them, my friends laughed at me and told me that those are no egg rolls an they left my house. i ate them and they were okay but what are egg rolls?
